One of the most important missions of the Alaska Council, is to attract visitors to the Alaska Backpackers Inn , which is the only member of Hostelling International in Alaska. They will be opening a second member in Girdwood soon!
The Alaska Council has been active with continuing outreach programs, as we look forward to the imminent opening of a new hostel in Girdwood, and Sitka, Alaska.

The second quarter meeting for 2009 of the Alaska Council will be held at the Middle Way Cafe, 1446 W. Northern Lights, Anchorage, Alaska on Saturday, May 2nd at noon. The Board will accept reports, and nominations for the coming year, final approval of the by-laws, and any other business to be put on the agenda. New volunteers are welcome to attend. Those interested in joining the Board should attend this quarterly meeting. Letters of intent to join will be accepted.
