One of the most important missions of the Alaska Council, is to attract visitors to the Alaska Backpackers Inn, which is the only member of Hostelling International in Alaska. Please check them out!
The Alaska Council has been reorganized, and the new council has been active with continuing projects.

The third quarter meeting for 2008 is scheduled to be held on July 22, 2008 at Mulcahy Park in Anchorage. The Board meeting will be followed by a tailgate party in the parking lot of the ball park. After the party, the group will attend the game as the honored guests. First, they will sing the national anthem on the field over the p.a. system, and then be recognized by the announcer and one will be throwing out the first pitch. Along with this, rack cards will be distributed to the attendees to promote awareness of the almost new hostel, the Alaska Backpackers Inn.
